As I browse my twitter timeline watching artists that I think have the potential to be something GREAT lose appeal because of the lame shit they say or do and all the dickriding I have to witness, I’ve come up with a fullproof plan to save their fucking careers. Now if any of you aspiring rappers agree or disagree with my theory, please feel free to discuss with me, because I’d love your point of view. See, the thing about hip hop artists, (or celebrities in general), that these fools can’t seem to grasp is, we hold you on an unrealistic pedestal. Youre not human to us. And we prefer it that way! The minute you show us that you’re just one of us, you step off the pedestal, and once that happens, well it’s damned near impossible to get back on. So my solid advice on preventing this from happening is, anytime you have to make a decision, ask yourself, WWJD? And by WWJD, I mean What Would Jay-Z Do? When you’re on ustream letting the world see you do basic shit & being reckless, ask yourself, would Jay do this? When you’re arguing back & forth w/ some regular ass person, ask yourself, would Jay do this? When you’re participating in and creating lame ass trending topics for more than 2 hrs, would Jay do this? When you’re broadcasting your relationship feeding fuel to ppls fire, would Jay do this? When you’re telling ppl to send you beats, would Jay do this? When you’re @replying someone who’s supposed to be your colleague asking when ya’ll gon get together, would Jay do this? Quite frankly, celebrities shouldn’t even @reply another celebrity on twitter at al; it just looks like dickriding. And we all see and notice it. If I see a rapper @replying w/ Drake or Lupe asking when they gon get up, or when can they get a feature, I don’t assume you’re supercool for being friends w/ them on twitter, I figure this is your only means of contacting them. It makes you seem lame, like you’re begging someone who’s supposed to be your colleague and even worse… PUBLICLY ! Wtf?! So take my advice and just ask WWJD, and I promise it’ll save you.
