Twitter has this way of exposing who’s really your friend and who’s not. And I aint talking about your internet associates, I’m talking about your REAL LIFE friends. It gives them the perfect platform to say what they REALLY feel about you, or the things you enjoy, but disguise it as ‘speaking in general’. So often, I catch people who are supposed to be my best friends, firing indirect shots of me, showing their true colors. I’ll talk about how much I love Kid Cudi and suddenly, they’re going off on twitter tangents about how anyone who likes Kid Cudi is wack. I’ll express my love for Jeffrey Campbell wedges and sure enough, here they come tweeting about how Jeffrey Campbell wedges are for lames. I’ll confess to not really liking Chipotle, and sure enough, they’re suddenly tweeting about how epic Chipotle is and anyone who thinks otherwise doesn’t know shit. (Of course these are just small examples of what really goes on). When confronted, these friends play dumb and give me the ever so popular ‘I wasn’t talking about YOU’ whilst simultaneously tweeting ‘I bet you think this tweet is about you’ to which I can’t respond to. Even though we both know that they were subliminally talking about, there’s no point in arguing what you can’t prove. And while I know I’m infamous for being a shock jock and making bold statements on twitter to get a rise out of people, I don’t throw underhand insults at my friends. I’ll admit, sometimes a situation with a friend sparks up a general discussion, but just because it derives from them, doesn’t mean I don’t mean it generally. If I’m saying something in general, I mean it that way. Otherwise I have no problem calling you out specifically or getting at you personally. But eh, that’s just me. Apparently, a lot of my best friends operate a bit differently. And I know they think their snide remarks via twitter just fly right over my head since I no longer say anything, but I’m at a point that if I peep you crossing me, there’s no need for confrontation, I’d rather just cut you off silently.
