"These first pieces are so revealing in terms of personality, for us all. Portraiture is so difficult. It takes years to perfect. If a tree is 1/4 of an inch off, you'd never notice, yet if an eye is 1/4 of an inch off, it looks like a different person. I'd say you're about 75% accurate, which is a very strong start for portraiture. Interestingly, you've changed the background from black to yellow with some swirly brushstrokes here and there. Also, though the ring on your friends hand is in darkness in the photo, you've instinctually made it gold. Be aware of these alterations. They are your voice coming through, interpreting what you see. Slant your eye a bit more and you'll be right on. Her face should be a bit thinner, not much. This all depends on your intent though. Everyone has that something, especially you. Over time, you will develops habits, based on your inclination, and the same something ill come through. It's human nature."
